What Would You Teach If

What/how would you teach if…

You weren’t worried about class numbers or studio culture?

You taught unapologetically from the heart, the things that interest you the most?

Would you slow down, speed up, add props, remove an expected pose?

Would you teach without music?

Would anything change? Or would you stay exactly the same?

Check in and and ask yourself how you want to show up as a yoga teacher. Then go about making that possible. It’s not about wholesale change overnight. What one small thing can you do to help yourself better align with the answers to these questions?

Of course you want people to like your class.

As a yoga teacher you might feel the pressure to teach a certain way even if it doesn't line up with what you truly want to bring to the class. Can you relate?

I have started to care less... wait I should rephrase that to say, over time I have started to care more about what I want to teach. Yes, that's it. Of course I want people to enjoy my class and have a meaningful experience, but a decade into teaching I believe the best way to do that and not feel burned out is to lean into the things that light up your teaching heart.

You'll show up more and so will those who value what you offer. You don't have to be everybody's teacher.

It's amazing what you can create when you show up and own up to what makes you you.
