Hi, I’m Trisha
I help people rediscover their strength and get back to moving their body. Comfortably, kindly and confidently.
I also help yoga teachers get out of their own way so they can teach their best, most informed yoga classes.
This includes: Removing common barriers that people struggle with in group fitness classes, helping yoga teachers adapt their sequencing to better serve students with pain, AND extinguishing harmful myths common in yoga/fitness culture that limit access and stifle capabilities.
After years of practicing and teaching ashtanga vinyasa yoga I was burned out and in a lot of physical pain. The idea that you get all of your movement nutrients from a yoga practice did not stand the test of time. That and the emphasis on flexibility was no longer sustainable and the right/wrong rules of alignment felt exclusionary despite the idea that yoga is for all. With time, education and unlearning my whole approach shifted. Now I draw from a variety of movement modalities including strength and mobility to help people feel strong and capable when they move their body. It’s expansive, inclusive, and it focuses on how the movement feels rather than how it looks. I call it, Calm + Strong.
I specialize in 1:1 training and teaching yoga teachers.
